INDO PACIFIC RUGBY CHAMPIONSHIP TESTIMONIALS
World Rugby is supportive of the IPRC’s objective to further help grow the game of rugby throughout the Indo Pacific region. This massive region of the world is a key priority of World Rugby’s mission to grow the game globally.
This is an amazing opportunity for us in Asia to really develop the game at the performance level. World Rugby, Australia Rugby and Asia Rugby are all on the same page and are all now working closely together to try to ensure the success of this visionary project which can provide a stepping stone for many of our participating unions up to the next level. This will affect not only the players, but for the unions themselves; their infrastructure and support, including administration and match officiating. It is even more exciting that we are talking about not just the men’s game, but also women’s competitions as well, both at 7’s and 15’s.

The principles we have agreed to will ensure that the IPRC has an opportunity to succeed and that the integrity of the Super Rugby competition is preserved. The IPRC has the potential to be an exciting addition to the international Rugby calendar.
An idea whose time has come! Asia is the focus of the world today in all spheres and this initiative will certainly raise the awareness and visibility of Rugby across the entire region. Rugby India is excited at the prospect of being a part of this initiative and fully supports it.
Rugby across Asia is at such an exciting stage of growth and development and we believe the IPR has a great opportunity to reach a wider demographic, and raise the profile of our game across our region. We envisage it will inspire more young people to embrace the game, subsequently providing a strong platform for Asia Rugby’s 1 Million project – growing the game.
